Why the Baseball Hall of Fame is becoming a bad joke...
Rich Perez
LAS VEGAS, NV- I have to admit we have a huge, serious problem especially in Baseball. Many of the top stars of the past are not able to get into the Baseball Hall of Fame due to the lackluster efforts of the voting procedures that it takes to get the players inducted. You see so many stars retire each year many are capable of the elite status. The Hall of Fame cannot possibly induct the players to get into Cooperstown by the way the voting takes place today. Induction is usually 1-2 guys a year while up to 5 possible quit each year. You do the math...its a joke hundreds upon hundreds of guys deserving cannot get in...here are a partial list of names just waiting that may never make it: Steve Garvey, Gil Hodges, Fred Lynn, Luis Tiant, Bert Blylevin, Frank White, Frank Tannana, Ron Cey, Bill Buckner, Paul O'Neal, Don Gullett, Tommy John, Wilbur Wood, Walter Alston. Many of the greats cannot get in the hall and its a darn shame!
